After graduating from the Combermere School in 1984, I started out working in the insurance industry as an insurance agent. It wasn’t until 1993, that CGI Insurance, the brainchild of Bruce Bayley and I, was created with the help of a few investors. Since our launch, we have made numerous strides and have made a significant contribution to the insurance industry in Barbados.
CGI was the first insurance company to implement a roadside rescue programme, our popular Automate service. With Automate’s immediate success and positive feedback from customers, we then launched the householder’s version of this service, Homemate.
My undaunted passion for innovation has led me to the development of numerous businesses across many sectors, through my management consultancy company, PVH Consultants Ltd. PVH has done well, and the businesses in our portfolio have propelled in their respective industries. We are currently rebranding to the PVH Group to provide greater synergies across our companies and to remain ahead of our competitors.
I believe in continual development and have taken a keen interest in the development of my staff, and support a number of training programmes. My initiatives also extend to the community and I support many community outreach programmes.
I am an avid sportsman, having played hockey for Barbados at both the junior and senior levels. I especially look forward to the annual Banks Hockey Festival. In my down time, I can be found on the squash court with friends or perfecting my backswing with golf buddies.
